Let’s Talk Prostate Cancer Awareness

On Thursday, 8 February, our 60 Fenchurch Street project hosted a prostate cancer awareness talk on-site.

Over 25 team members, including our supply chain partners Bancroft, joined us for an informal presentation by prostate cancer representative and survivor Patrick Williams.

Patrick works tirelessly with Prostate Cancer UK to bring the spotlight to a disease that will affect around 1 in 8 men in their lifetimes. After being diagnosed in 2019 and overcoming his Stage 4 diagnosis, Patrick is a strong advocate of prostate cancer awareness and provided a detailed insight into his experience battling the disease from the very beginning.

Key takeaways from the session included:

  • Know your risk – check your risk in 30 seconds with Prostate Cancer UK here
  • Find out if there is a history of cancer in your family and inform your GP.
  • Know the symptoms of Prostate Cancer.
  • Take action – early detection will bring a much better outcome.

Patrick’s incredibly impactful talk made a serious topic engaging with plenty of audience interaction and banter.
