Making Small Jobs Lite Work

The Lite team makes Lite work out of small jobs and have been an integral part of our service offering for over 15 years.  Our Lite Contracts Director Jason Pitts answers a few questions about Parkeray Lite.

So, Jason, for those who do not know, what is Parkeray Lite?Contrary to popular belief we are not Parkeray’s lighting division. We are the small (and I like to think special) works division at Parkeray. Parkeray has always offered small works but recognising that these types of projects require a more streamlined approach and structure, we officially launched Lite in 2002.

We are a dedicated team of talented and approachable construction professionals that provides a personal fit out service within the commercial and education sectors.

Our working relationships are based on trust and we have developed a good rapport with a number of our clients over many years. For the most part, the nature of our work involves working in live environments and occupied buildings, so understanding our clients’ needs and business operations is not only critical but provides them with ‘peace of mind’. It’s also the reason why a high proportion of work is awarded to us on a repeat basis.

What type of services does Lite offer new and existing clients?
We work closely with existing clients by complimenting and extending the services of the interiors division through continued customer care on completed projects. We are there to support our clients during their transition in their new space and can manage any further small moves they may require.

For new (and naturally existing) clients, we understand that not one service suits all so we tailor our approach to fit their needs.  We offer a range of services: upfront budgeting and initial project advice; space planning and design services from our architect and design partners, as well as offering a range of construction approaches such as:

Churn
Small works
Frameworks
Term contracting
Dilapidation works
Summer works, especially within the education sector

You have mentioned Parkeray Interiors, how do Lite differ from them?
For all intents and purposes, we really are one in the same, we call ourselves an ‘internal arm’ of Parkeray. What this means is that we are built of the same foundations. I have personally been part of this family since the beginning, which (scarily) is coming up 20 years; we have a strong set of ethics and core messages upon which we set the business up and we follow exactly the same format – that of providing a professional fit out service to our clients and consultants alike but in a non-confrontational, non-contractual manner.

What makes the Lite team different is how we are structured, this makes us very competitive within the small works bracket, which we perceive as being projects up to £250,000.  We have Quick Response Vehicles, or in the real world, a number of vans. This is a huge asset as we are able to reach our clients all over London and the Home Counties quickly and can respond to those all-important small churn works that require immediate focus. We will respond within 24 hours and will deploy our team within 48.

Pick three words that best describe your team?
Warm, experienced and dedicated (with an appreciation for shortbread).

What’s your most memorable project and why?
It was a Brighton themed fit-out which involved creating a manmade beach with deck chairs and a funfair for a well-known technology company. We pride ourselves on our repeat and negotiated business, we have been working with this very cool client consistently for the past 5 years and in that time have undertaken 14 projects with them.

What’s the smallest project Lite has completed?
An office dilapidation in Mayfair with £200 worth of decorations for a longstanding repeat client. We really will provide a service if we possibly can, no matter how small.
