Parkeray recently delivered the latest Storey, British Land’s flexible workspace brand, opening at 100 Liverpool Street, Broadgate. This 25-week project included the construction of fully customisable office spaces and a Storey Club, with dedicated collaboration and breakout areas and facilities including lounges, meeting rooms and two event spaces, including a 180-seat auditorium; providing all the flexibility an evolving business requires.
This scheme is the fifth project delivered by Parkeray, Storey’s 12th location and British Land’s first net-zero carbon development. Our team took occupation of the space from shell and core to deliver the fit out of two expansive floors. The scope of work included reconfiguration works to Level 1, which saw our team open the floor to introduce the staircase that leads down to the event spaces. We also installed new services to suit, including a new exposed MEPH on both levels and two new comms rooms.
As with all of our projects, it is all about the finishes; this scheme is no exception. Expert craftmanship, quality fittings, fixtures and fittings put this scheme in a class of its own. We especially love the suspended acoustic baffles within the office spaces, all 1,500 of them work to deliver both style and function with them working acoustically and visually to calm down the view on an exposed ceiling. High-end joinery products feature throughout, with many bespoke items including tea points, seating booths and bar units, carefully selected with a sustainability focus when sourcing.
Providing flexibility for tenants to grow and adapt their working spaces is part of the design concept created by Architect Gensler, which utilises a modular design. The buildings environmental credentials coupled with SMART technology has helped create a modern, sustainable and connected working environment that achieved an Outstanding BREEAM award and is on course to achieve WELL Gold certification.
Delivering this extensive fit out project during the COVID pandemic was no easy feat. However, our team and family of subcontractors successfully overcame the challenge whilst providing cost savings to our client along the way.
Kudos to all involved!
