Parkeray Joins the Fight Against Food Poverty

We proudly joined the fight against food poverty by running a two-week food bank appeal across our sites and at Parkeray HQ between 21 November and 2 December 2022.

Thousands of people face food poverty daily in the UK. Despite being the sixth-richest country in the world, our food poverty rate is among the highest in Europe. After hearing the shocking stats, our team contacted the Trussell Trust, and the rest is history! With access to their far-reaching network of food banks, we put a call out for donations and our teams rallied around in support.

Our food bank appeal was the gift that kept giving with a record amount of goods received from our staff, teams on site and supply chain members. Our Lite team also lent a helping hand to the cause by transporting crates of non-perishable items to our local food bank in Hackney.

The campaign raised 376.8kg of food, which will provide the food bank with 38 three-day emergency parcels over Christmas. Together with our supply chain, we also donated £1,650, which is estimated to provide an additional 52 three-day emergency parcels.

A big thank you to everyone for taking part in this initiative. Special thanks to our super supply chain members who went over and beyond to help at: Aveat Heating Limited , Bents Plant Hire, CJ Decorators, Eurotec, Harper & Edwards, Impact Building Services, Innovation Air Conditioning, Leonari, MR Scaffolding, Radii Partitioning Ltd and Supagold.

What a fabulous start to the festive season! For more information about the Trussell Trust and its network of food banks, please visit: https://www.trusselltrust.org/.
