PKY Great Bake Off Returns for Macmillan Coffee Day

Cake, cake, cake! There was plenty of it at the Parkeray Great Bake Off on Monday, 3 October. Our twist on the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning saw judges Jamie Walker and Adrian Grint up the ante on their critique with a new scoreboard for the fabulous selection of baked entries. All 11 cakes received points on appearance, flavour, texture, consistency and overall taste – resulting in the biggest smile 😊.

Between scoring points and eating, we raised over £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support, with enough leftovers for round two or three the next day. Congrats to our bake-off winner Jodie Green with her yummy Chocolate Chip Brownies. In second place was Laura Fernandes with her Amaretti Crunch Cake served with cream. Carrieanne Beer and Heather Linch shared third place with their delicious Carrot Cake and Tray Bake.

Well done to all who participated, we can’t wait to do it all again next year.
