We Worked Well and Played Hard at our Respect Coffee Morning

On Thursday 22 June, we hosted our Summer Respect Coffee Morning at 10 Parkeray sites.

As with all of our Respect Coffee Mornings our subcontractors and guests received a warm welcome by our project leaders on site, donning Respect aprons. There was also a generous spread of refreshments to choose from; our Tintagel project went so far as to provide a selection of pastries, whereas our Ecclestone Square team had Respect and client cupcakes specially made.

As a twist to our bi-annual coffee mornings, we introduced a ‘Work Hard Play Well’ competition as a team building exercise. Each site was given a Lego set of the London City skyline (which forms part of the Parkeray brand), with the challenge of completing the build during the morning. As builders by trade, this feat sparked plenty of rivalry and respectful banter in the race to see who could complete the set the quickest with clients, guests and members of our supply chain joining in!

Our Ecclestone Square project led by Karl Severs and Bartek Zawadski were crowned winners – finishing their set in 1 hour and 37 minutes – assisted by Rory Gillespie, Steve Mott and project architect Tom Partridge from SODA Studio, who coincidently celebrated his birthday on the day. As a prize, the winning project team will be treated to a delicious breakfast at a nearby venue of their choice.

Well done to all that took part.
